Rental housing, renovictions key items at council meeting today – CBC News
GN notes: Communist Mayor Olivia Chow’s “second key item moves the renovictions bylaw forward, to protect renters from unfair evictions, and offer renters more security and stability in their homes.” Tone deaf politicians are pushing legislation that will pull away investments into rentals. Preventing a landlord from renovating an apartment in order to get better rent and cover his mortgage and taxes is just insane.

Edmonton council passes district policy, clarifies freedom of movement amid 15-minute cities fears – Edmonton Journal
GN notes: Although the council claims no restriction of movement, the plan involves expanding bike lanes and consequently making it more difficult for drivers. During the meeting, comments were dominated with criticism. “Concerns ranged from fears Edmonton’s quiet residential areas would be overwhelmed with tall apartment buildings and that it’s too restrictive on housing” “Really, the whole city is screaming, ‘We don’t want this in our mature neighbourhoods” Council went ahead with it anyway.

New head of Canadian Human Rights Commission investigated over allegations of anti-Israel activity – National Post
GN notes: Head of the CHRC Dattani “has directly associated with individuals and groups affiliated with listed terror entities and has a history of making highly troubling antisemitic statements.” Dattani’s ascension to head the CHRC as underscoring “a crisis of confidence” with the body that “undermines our confidence in the Commission’s ability to adjudicate issues of hate and discrimination.” When the wolf is selected to be the sheppard.

New Conservative MP sponsors petition to stop ‘sex changes’ for children in Canada – Life Site News
GN notes: Initiated by Conservative Party MP Jamil Jivani, the petition states that the “protection of our youth from irreversible and harmful medical interventions should be a top priority for the Government of Canada.” The abortion fight was lost 4 decades ago, youth sex change is today’s battle and it must be fought head on.

Nearly half of 124 arrested by Ontario carjacking task force were on bail: police – Global News
GN notes: “It’s really concerning that 44 per cent of those arrested were out on bail at the time of their arrest, and 61 per cent were subsequently released on bail yet again.” “The lack of potential consequences might be a driving factor as well.” You think? Of course, that’s the driving factor. Our justice system is such a joke with its easy bail, no wonder the crime wave can’t be stopped.

‘Swear on Allah’: French antisemitic rape victim told to convert to Islam – report – The Jerusalem Post
GN notes: “After October 7, our daughter suffered harassment at her school and was ostracized because of her religion. It started during the month of November with Nazi salutes, swastikas on tables at school, and jokes about the Holocaust.” Never underestimate Muslims.

Canada’s annual inflation rate rose to 2.9 per cent in May, driven by services prices, groceries – CTV News
GN notes: Just when everyone was counting on a deceleration of inflation, it’s rising again. Argentina’s inflation went from 211% in 2023 to nothing within 6 months. All is needed was government cuts, something Liberals can’t do. Therefore, hard working Canadians will have to live with high interests rates as the BOC won’t be able to allow another rate cut in July.

Ottawa keeps spending on influencers. Liberals say it’s about stemming disinformation – The Canadian Press
GN notes: “Since 2021, federal government departments and agencies have spent at least $1.7 million on influencers” It’s bad enough when the Ministry of truth (Liberal Government) spends our money for its propaganda, but at least it used to be transparent that it was paid by the Government. This devious government propaganda (influencers aren’t disclosing they are paid government stooges) should be completely forbidden.

B.C. library boasts of program to explicitly reject white job applicants – National Post
GN notes: Racism exists in Canada, but not from the whites. In Canada, whites are the victims of discrimination and BC Human Rights supports that.
